Henry Darger is the quintessential Visionary artist of the past century. His ouvre consists of a 19,000 page manuscript and well as several hundred large scale watercolor and collage accompanying illustration to his epic" The Story of the Vivian Girls, in what is Known as the Realms of the Unreal, of the Glandeco-Angelinian War Storm, Caused by the Child Slave Rebellion "

In 2000 the American Folk Art Museum in New York City established the Henry Darger Study Centre "to foster open inquiry and multidisciplinary research into the life and work of the Chicago artist".
